[Freegis-list] SRTM to contourlines

Hi,

I am looking for a free tool to convert SRTM-Data (a GeoTiff from GLCF) 
to contourlines (as dxf or an other vector-format).

I tried GRASS, but couldn't manage it yet.

Maybe there is a free tool out there?
