Hello the list!:

I am a student, presently finishing an A.A.S. degree in Computer Science. GIS has captured my interest and I have taken 2 classes in this area of study, and I am just starting an internship with my local city community development department. I plan to pursue a 4 year degree in this area of study, however, my instructor tells me that I will need to select a discipline that incorporates GIS in order to obtain a 4 year degree.

Since I am interested in several areas, can anyone tell me what discipline in the U.S. currently is experiencing the most demand for graduates? I would also be interested to know what the predictions are for about 2 years down the road.

I have been reading your listserv messages for a couple of months and it sounds like there is a lot to learn in this area, but it's sooo interesting!

Thanks,
