All-

Sorry about my previous unfinished post. I accidentally hit send...

Anyway, I am looking for a data viewer, and have yet to find one with the features I need. There are four main features I'd like, in addition to what is "standard" (use shapefiles as a data source, zooming, getting information about features, etc).

1) Joining/relating tables and hyperlinking. I'd like to be able to open hyperlinked files for a given feature, but I don't want to store this information in the shapefile dbf. I want to be able to join the tables with a one-to-many relationship (ie a single feature has many links) and open files/URLS from a field in the joined table.

2) Selecting and exporting features. I want to be able to select certain features and export the selected table data to a new file. This could be a .dbf, .csv or .xls.

3) Editing. I DO NOT want the user to be able to edit the data in any way. I don't want them to be able to change anything in the shapefile features or table. I don't want the user to be able to add or delete anything.

4) It needs to be simple and easy to install.

Those are the three key things I am looking for. Although I do a little programming, I am not great at it and therefor would like something that involves a minimal amount of programming, if any at all. I am looking for something that is free, but I am open to other suggestions.

So, if anybody knows of anything available, I'd love to hear it! Thanks for your help.

Cayla Buell
