Hello Markus (Müller), hello Markus (Neteler)

thank you for your hint. I'm a little confused because I thought
WMS/WFS/WCS already support 3D data? But that seems not to be the case
as far as I have read in the Web (Wikipedia, google). Therefore are
the Web Terrain Service (WTS, static data only without time domain)
and the Web 3D Service (W3DS, server delivers 3D scene graph and the
client can combine the data from various sources). The question is:
are there already open source implementations for W3DS? I would need
the time domain for my realtime GPS data source. The clients (viewers)
would then overlay them over the terrain data.

Yes, deegree also seems to be an option when the 3D functions are
ready. What viewers are available for that (client side)? Could I
combine it with the GRASS viewer? Is W3DS support planned for deegree?
(The standard seems to be not yet adopted by the OGC?)

When not over a full blown 3D
terrain, is it possible to overlay the
realtime data over a 2D map in your current implementations (this
maybe would also be sufficient for my purposes)?

Its interesting to discuss with you, I think I am near to the core of
my recherche task.

Thank you so far, I hope you like to answer the questions above?

Best regards,

Peter.
