Note that our attempts at Intevation have not produced a
live running CD yet that we could distribute, but it might soon.

All Free Software orientated organisations make pragmatic decisions
and compromise if that leads to more freedom in the end.
If you use such a proprietary database with the mid term plan
to use a Free Software one even making steps towards that goal,
you would be "pure" in the common sense, I'd say.
