Subject: Qgis 1.0 Preview

The Qgis developpers have put a preview release of version 1.0 on their 
website (see download page). Besides many other feature enhancements and 
bugfixes map printing  and legend configuration has been dramatically 
improved (fill patterns come much better now, resolution of raster images is 
higher). By using custom fill styles with transparent png's allmost any 
thinkable fill style/hatch pattern now is possible. This finally makes Qgis a 
very usefull free tool for professional mapmaking/map printing since high 
quality printing output is absolutely essential for any (landscape)planner.
