Subject: Can not start any monitors in GRASS 6.2.2

Hell everybody

 i am using GRASS 6.2.2 on the basic of Cygwin, my operation system is Windows
XP, and i am not good at Linx; After the GRASS 6.2.2 installed, the sample
data displayed in the 'Map Display 1' window. but i can not start any
monitors. Run 'd.mon -L' it gives the following messages:

type 'd.mon start=x1' it will give this information:

Graph_Set: can't open Display :0.0
No socket to connect to for monitor <x0>.

Problem selecting x0. Will try once more
No socket to connect to for monitor <x0>.

i really do not know why that happened, please kindly give me a help, thank
you very much!
