[Freegis-list] Can FreeGIS become OpenGIS compliant?

Dear FreeGIS-list members,

at this moment I'm following a course which deals with "Spatial Data
Infrastructures" at Wageningen University & Researchcentre. My question:

Will FreeGIS be able to meet OpenGIS standards?

Ideas? Comments?
