[Freegis-list] Free Climate Data?

Hi there,

I would like to add climate data to Wikipedia, a free 
encyclopedia project at http://www.wikipedia.com/. Browsing
around always led me to some non-free databases that
won't help.

I am mainly interested in average temperatures and 
average rainfalls as they could be found at:

http://www.worldclimate.com/cgi-bin/data.pl?ref=N47E008+2100+06660W

Do you know where I can find the desired information?
