navigation on the right hand side has two reasons:

- it is closer to the scroll bar (which (accidently?) happens to be
	on the right.
- starting reading from left hand side in conjunction with
	the fact that contents is the most important item of a
	web page, means to offer contents on the left hand side. 
	You are more rapidley focused on the content.
	It is still easy to find navigation.

btw, the de-facto standard seems to shrink - I saw many sites
moving navigation to the right.
