It sounds good to me, an example below with GPSMan :

http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/search_packages.pl?keywords=gpsman&searchon=all&subword=1&version=all&release=all

The result of this method it's better because you'll automaticly now
in wich release the package is available.

And the same with GPSDrive on rpmfind :

http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=gpsdrive&system=&arch=

The URL are very simple, we can implemented with no difficulty.

How do you generate the html code ?
