[Freegis-list] export XYZ file to DEM

Hi all,
 
I was looking for a tool which converts a X,Y,Z file into a DEM.
 
MicroDEM is an option, but those DEM's cannot be used by for instance
Manifold 5.
 
The XYZ could be a dbf, an access database, or an ASCII file.
 
Does someone know if such a tool out there somewhere ?
