Hi Bernhard,

In terms of ready data formats, OpenMap supports:

VPF (including VMAP and DCW)
RPF (including CADRG and CIB)
DTED (levels 0, 1 and some distributions of 2)
Shape
MIF
ETOPO
Nexrad

There are also classes that display data from CSV (Comma-separated 
Value) files and database tables with lat/lon information.


The next version of OpenMap (4.5) will be released within the next 
couple of days.  Among the new features that may be of interest to list 
members (topics I've noticed lately) are more image export options 
(JPEG, GIF and SVG) and utilities to export OMGraphics to Shape files.  
With a little coding, the MIF and VPF layer contents could be written 
out to Shape files.  All the pieces are there, they are just not wired 
together.

I'll update the OpenMap FAQ to list the support file formats.
