[Freegis-list] converting rectangular to polar coordinates

Dear Sirs, do any of the major programs on your site do the simple
task of converting rectangular to polar coordinates?  GMT's project(1)
maybe does, but its man page is too complicated.  Yes a one line awk
script could do the job, but I'm still curious about GMT, grass and proj.

e.g. I am at x=235,y=2675 and I want input
222 2670
211 2555
to be output in azimuth and distance.
