There is a huge difference in the GNU Lesser GPL and the GNU GPL.
(E.g.: The LGPL does not put many restrictions on the use,
especially it allows the linking of proprietary software.)

But of course it is your decision if you want the freedom 
of your software to be protected in the mid term.
