I've not been aware of any statement regarding the license of _TerraView_! 
Except the remark that it would be Free Software in one mail to the list.

As I don't speak Portugese, I don't know what I'm agreeing to
when I sending my email address. I can only guess that it is a
registration, it might be something else. 
So I can't check the license on terraview in the sources myself.

Of course there are general disadvantages in requiring registration.
Jan-Oliver explained them in a differnent email.
