This is the first question. How to run software on GNU/Linux.
It does not necessarily mean Free Software.
Many people think they progress Free Software in porting 
proprietory applications to GNU/Linux. This is a missconception.

was written by David Wheeler and is constantly updated.

It is about 20 pages printed, but well worth the read.
