Are you sure? The README.postgis file says only that you need the 
PostgreSQL source. I.e. you just need to get that if you have installed 
a binary distro. PostGIS itself you need to compile.

I have not yet installed this version of postgis but probably should do 
that in the near future. I also have only a binary rpm of PostgreSQL 
installed currently.
