well, some people from SAP told me that MaxDB (former SAP DB)
has some support. But I didn't find any real evidence.
I do not recommend MySQL since if you are using the spatial
stuff you loose are feature such as transactions (IIRC).
PostGIS/PostgreSQL is the best choice today and widely used.
