.... well, in this sense Silvics is probably not Free Software, the code
has not been published, but maybe you can convince Niall, the developer,
to contribute to the FreeGIS, project.
Niall is working at the European Commission's Joint Research Center
(JRC) in Italy which spending a lot of European tax money to do useful
(and less useful...) research, so why not contributing to the FreeGIS
project, they are also strongly engaged in the OpenGIS activities, so
maybe Niall is interested (NIALL.MCCORMICK at jrc.it) ....
