[Freegis-list] Free GIS for Mobile Devices

Is anyone aware of any current efforts or plans to develop an open 
source lightweight GIS for mobile devices? Essentially what I'm looking 
for is an open source equivalent to ArcPad.

I've searched around and haven't found anything.

If this doesn't already exist -- is there anyone interested in working 
towards development of this technology? I'd be happy to hear of any 
ideas people on the list may have.
