This would be a feasible goal for the uber-converter.  The latest work 
is in the svg space, and some work has already been done to connect ogr 
to dxf and other cad formats.  The bridge between cad and "designer 
graphics" like svg, ps, pdf, xar, ai is not started yet, but if anyone 
is interested in hacking on it, please let me know.
