[Freegis-list] 52°North's software releases

Dear FreeGIS list,

the open source software initiative 52°North (http://www.52north.org) 
announces the release of their security services.

Stable release 1.0.0 provides implementations of the Web Authentication 
Service 1.0 (WAS) and Web Security Service 1.0 (WSS) Specifications. Please
note that the 1.0 thread will be not continued in the future due to the 
emerging new WAS and WSS specifications. No bugfixes or updates will be 
available.

The second release 1.1.0-devel01 is a development release (or "pre-alpha"), 
which basically offers the same functionality as 1.0.0. The main difference
is that the WSS is based on the Web Security Service 1.1 draft 
specification. A pre-version of this release was presented at the last OGC
TC meeting in Frascati, Italy, as part of the geoDRM Demonstrator. The 
upcoming 1.1.0 final release will contain a great number of additional 
features like pluggable authorization and authentication modules. 
Development releases will be announced irregularly as soon as a new feature 
is implemented.
