Two thoughts on this. With GeoServer/WFS-T you'd have persistant addition
of points. Mapbuilder is a javascript toolkit that supports WFS-T inserts
and editing (and I'm hoping that ka-map and them can get some good
collaborations going).
If you want dynamic addition of points we're looking to the next vesion of
the SLD spec (1.1) that is being worked on. It will have support for
'in-line features', that is you include the feature to be rendered in your
WMS request. I would recommend that standards based approach (though it
is as yet an unfinished standard), even if the ka-map api isn't quite
standard.
