Hi
I am new to the GIS world so please fogive what is probably a simple
question, but I can't find my answer on Google.
I am wanting to draw a series of cross sectional views of bushwalks.
Somthing like
http://www.nodedb.com/elev2.php?h=500&w=1000&nodeid=26125&peerid=26111
(this draws a cross section between two points - I will need to draw between
many points)
I would be very happy with a plugin in excel that would allow me to query
srtm files to return a altitude from a lat/long.
I have looked at converting SRTM files into XYZ but this means a 50gb
database for Australia - a little to big for me at this stage - but if I
have to then OK.
are they any tools that will do this for me??
or a webservice that I can use to query SRTM files??
Any ideas??
Thanks for your time
Matt McC
