[Freegis-list] Free GIS for realtime data and 3D visualization?

Google Earth has a COM api, but that will bind you to Windows, at which 
point the greater openness of Worldwind might tilt you in that 
direction.  Sounds like you need something you can use as a software 
component, and Worldwind / Virtual Earth in closer to that category.
