[Freegis-list] Free software for pollution diffusion modelling in coastal sea water

Hi All,

This is a slightly off topic request w/r to GIS but I figured I may get 
some help on this list.  We have a project where we need to model the 
mixing zone of an industrial effluent that discharges in the sea.  The 
outlet is on the beach and it is sometimes underwater (high tide), 
sometimes not (low tide).

Googling around reveals two non free solutions : Descar 
(http://www.canarina.com/waterpollution.htm) and Cormix 
(http://www.cormix.info/).  Does anyone know of free as in freedom 
software tools to attack those types of issues ?  Any GRASS plugin ?
