Updated as SAGA GIS has 2.0Beta versions build with wxWidgets for Windows and GNU/Linux available since a while. 


Description:
------------
You can understand SAGA as a geographic information system
 (GIS), with a special "Application Programming Interface"
 (API) for geographic data processing. The SAGA API
 supports grid data like digital terrain models and
 satellite images, vector data, and tables.
  
 Since the release of SAGA there is a growing collection
 of SAGA-Modules, in areas of digital terrain analysis,
 geo-statistics, image processing and process simulation.
