well, you should start with making one of the demos running at your
site. You can look into the config and data files to learn 
how it works.
Also you should read http://www.mapit.de/data.en.html
on how to prepare your own data.

Hope this helps.

PS: It would be better if you could send emails that are
standard compliant. HTML-only mails are not and it is difficult
to cite such emails properly.
