Thanks for agreeing with me that they are problems!  That gives me
encouragement and license to fix them.  In this particular case, I
think that the status line at the bottom should say "Use
Layer/Projection... to correct the projection for layer %s" %
layer.Labels()[0].text.  I'll propose a patch once I figure out how to
make it happen.
