What I find a little cumbersome about the current windows installer is that
it requires to add its gdal\bin directory to the PATH (or so I understood).
I've worked around that problem by simply copying the gdal14.dll some levels
up so it would be found regardless of the PATH.
Is it really necessary to ship so much of GDAL? Or is it sufficient to
simply ship the DLL (and put it in an accessible place)? Sorry if this is
a stupid question, I don't really know enough of Thuban's internals to
answer that myself.
