Rasterproblem on Windows with German locale

about this issue:

Frank Warmerdam wrote that he did a couple of improvements to GDAL trunk
to make the project code more robust.
I wonder how much work it would be for you to do a build with GDAL trunk
and thuban trunk? I could use this for tests, but only if it is quite easy to 
do.
