Hi,
I've just made some more tests in order to integrate psycopg in the
Thuban w32 build. I came to the following thoughts :
[1] The first thing is that pyscopg1 is not smart to install on w32
(dependencies, and so on). psycopg2 is much easier.
[2] I did already some tests with psycopg2 and Thuban because psycopg1
did not support utf8 locales (see
http://wald.intevation.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=224&group_id=6&atid=105
).
[3] To go on with my tests, I tried to use the actual version on my
Debian/Etch environement with utf8 locals without success ...
[4] It seems that psycopg1 is declared obsolete
(http://initd.org/tracker/psycopg).
So here is my suggestion, why can't we drop the psycopg1 support and
migrate to psycopg2. The tests on my Debian system seems ok. I'm making
some test on w32.
What do you think ?
