sys.version, sys.platform inside the About box might be informative. I'm not
sure it's enough. 

We could maybe add somewhere a thuban_version = "$Id$" or alike to have also a
CVS version number (which would be the appropriate file, then?).

Along those lines, I think we could hook the platform information needed for
compilation somewhere... I'm not familiar with distutils though.
