[Freegis-list] anybody out there playing with GML and SVG?

There's an Apache-licensed set of Java tools on sourceforge that
provide an API for manipulating GML.

There are also some tools for converting TIGER/Line data to GML at
http://www.gmlcentral.com/tiger as well as tools that will generate
SVG from the resulting files.

(Note that www.gmlcentral.com still has a page pointing you back to
Galdos.com)

DCW is Digital Chart of the World and is available in VPF (Vector
Product Format). There are numerous VPF tools out there. OpenMap
(http://openmap.bbn.com) has some Java code that can read VPF.
