[Freegis-list] How to use a dititized map in Visual Basic

Hi,
I am working in GIS from Past 6 months in ARCINFO.I have my masters degree.I have digitized map from ArcInfo and i want to use this particular map in Visual Basic for analysis work.The ditized map being a Road intersection Plan.
     The nature of work being after impoting this digitized map in Visual Basic i have lay some grapical figures on this ditized map like drawing the vehicle path on the map.
     My problem is i am not able to import the map into Visual basic and want to know if at all is it possible and if yes can i conduct my analysis work as explained in 2nd paragraph.Can some one help me out.
