Just discovered
Interactive Visualizer and Image Classifier for Satellites (IVICS)
http://www.nsstc.uah.edu/ivics/
Originally a visualization tool to facilitate selection
of training samples from satellite images.
It has evolved into a general purpose
visualization system which supports several common satellite and
remote sensing data formats. The Generalized Satellite Format (GSF)
was developed to support IVICS. Both IVICS and GSF are available
under the GNU General Public Licence (GPL).
The reminds me:
If you discover packages that are not on freegis.org yet,
please let us know. We also appreciate contributions which help us
to further classify the entries we have and improve the describing texts.
All this can savely posted here. In case you think the audience is
too broad, we also have a mailinglist which is more about how
the infrastrucre of the FreeGIS project, which you could use.

Another thing everybody can do to help Free Software and GIS is:
Suggest links between projects to improve the knowledge space.
Many project pages should have links to related projects
and overview sites (like freegis.org in this case).
Writing a friendly email often reveals that the maintainers of
the project were not aware of the suggested links.
