Hi Jakob,

Perhaps you're trying to use (as I did too) the Shapelib.dll, but you do 
need the ShpApi129 library.

Go to http://www.triplexware.huckfinn.de/shpapi.html to download the entire 
distribution package lib.shp-1.2.9r.zip (255 kb) at the bottom of the page. 
That one has both the ShpAPI129.pas and associated ShpAPI129.dll, plus some 
C-samples and documentation in html format. Of course it has lots of other 
stuff (all source code, makefiles, instructions, etc.) that you don't need 
if all you want is to use the API and DLL to manipulate your shapes.
