Well, It doesn't do anything like auto-routing because of the
technology. there is no way a program can derive driving directions from
a bitmap representation of a map

said systems use patented formats, such as SDAL from Navtech, which we
should keep clear of. (we could get sued for implementing an SDAL
library).

We need to develop out own freely available and non patent encumbered
format, and start publishing data in that format as soon as possible.
