Sorry for the late response. We're (Lx-Viewer) currently working on two
things that should help fix this.

 1. I've been helping pythonCAD who are writing a free dwg library, or
at least heading towards it. I can't code myself but I managed to put
together a collection of about 17,000 DWG files and run the program
through them to find errors with different versions as they developed,
which helped fix a few bugs apparently. I'm kind of hoping we'll be able
to use it with the below (2)

 2. The main Lx-Viewer developer is working on a totally new v2 that
isn't in the CVs yet but is designed to work without the OpenDWG libs.
It's not about yet, hopefully in a month or so.

I know it stinks in the meantime, but I just thought I'd mail to say we
are trying to do something about it.
