[Freegis-list] bus route maps

The following message is a courtesy copy of an article
that has been posted to sci.geo.cartography as well.

All I know is many cities have crappy bus route maps.  Apparently they
can't fit all their routes onto the same map without information
overload.  If there are Free GIS professors looking for projects to
give their students, have them make good bus route maps.

If one must do a single route route map, it should not be distorted,
and should show how the route fits in to the background streets.
