[Freegis-list] vmap0 and ogr2ogr

Dear Silke,

i succeeded to convert the dataset using the FWTools binaries for windows.
so i got the data now and it's not so urgent anymore (but still a
mystery).

on debian
ogrinfo gltp:/vrf/absolute/path/to/v0eur/vmaplv0/eurnasia 
'polbnda at bnd(*)_area'
tells me:

ERROR 4: OGDI Driver doesn't support update.
Had to open data source read-only.
INFO: Open of `gltp:/vrf/absolute/path/to/v0eur/vmaplv0/eurnasia'
using driver `OGDI' successful.

opening the data "read-only" is ok i guess, but "Feature Count: 0"
isn't.

on windows ogrinfo tells me "Feature Count: 5847" and starts listing
them.
the ogr version is 1.2.5 for both FWTools packages.
