I don't say that you should use GRASS, just for others so that they 
don't get a wrong impression.

GRASS does not necessarily mean command line. GRASS modules can be used 
from QGIS (http://qgis.org/), via GUI:

Configuration of the menu and modules is written in XML files and it can 
be easily modified for specialised tasks and users.
