[Freegis-list] Canadian open geodata people?

hello,

it's been a while since http://freedata.ca/ dropped off the net and i
wonder whether anyone here knows anyone who was involved, or is
involved now in free geodata activism in Canada. I am super keen to
get in touch with such people in connection with the community
wireless network movement and grassroots LBS projects there.

Since the KPMG study there which vindicated a lot of the claims of the
freedata.ca members, fine statements were made on open geodata policy
by the Canadian government, but i don't hear of much appearing on the
ground, via WFS or anything. It would be great to claim a success
story on opening up geodata licensing, and what can get built.
