Hello everybody,

I'm looking for a (possibly open source) solution to display maps on a
restricted Intranet web site. As we often work with Flash based
online applications I would prefer a solution that can produce Flash
(SWF) vector maps. I believe "UNM MapServer" fits pretty well in this
scheme (but I have never tried it).

Also I'm looking for map data for central Europe (at least Italy,
Germany, Austria, Switzerland). No problem if the data has to be buyed
or a service payed regularily for this, but it shouldn't cost too
much (TeleAtlas? Navtech?).

All this is needed for various live vehicle tracking applications.

I would be happy if someone could give me some advice on where to
begin, which solution to choose, which data supplier to recommend...



I'm afraid this has been asked often and I know that there are many
Internet resources available but that's a huge amount of information
and I failed finding an answer to my question.
