[Mapit] MapInfo integration

I am currently using MapInfo and was wondering if it is possible to
integrate workspaces from MapInfo into MAPIT?  I have not thoroughly read
through the specifications but it seams to be a large task to get maps from
MapInfo to MAPIT.  Is this true?
