This sounds like a classic case of "usable", for some value of usable.
But it also sounds kind of bug-ridden, in a way that may well be fixed
with newer versions. A LOT of work has been done for OS-X in the 2.5
series. I like a lot of what 2.5.* has to offer on Linux, but on OS-X it
is a great leap forward.

Early on, I had problems with 2.4.* on OS-X, particularly with buttons
in Sizers. 5.5.1 was so much better that I haven't looked back. Besides,
I like a lot of the 2.5 features on other platforms anyway.

Would the next step be a version that works on both 2.4.* and 2.5.* ?
I'd recommend against that, as 2.5 has some nice additions. However,
there may be some value in having a "works on both" version during the
transition.

By the way, the new wxversion module makes this transition MUCH easier!
