Fwd: ogr extension

Hi,

I am trying to implement ogr support for Thuban as an extension. Now I got
the following problem:

Thuban knows three types of geometries: points, lines and polygons. In ogr,
more types are known, e.g. geometry type wkbUnknown. Enabling Thuban to
handle files with these geometry types would affect not only the extension
but also the Thuban core (e.g. the Session Tree feature asks for the geometry
type and can only handle one of the three types mentioned above).

I could change the respective classes or does anybody have a better idea to 
imlement it without changing the core?
