Thnk you for testing. I know the problem. This is why I sent my mail 
to the thuban-devel list and wrote:

The ClassGroupPattern is really a hack, working for me for a very
specific task (classifying the German Bundesländer on a layer of
counties, where all these have codes like '13DS', where '13' stands for
Lower Saxonia). I posted my mail to ask if others think it is a feature
worth to spent more time on tests, interactivity, auto-classification
...
