Subject: gdal problem not noticed by Thuban

I discovered on Mandrake with 1.0.1 and CVS HEAD from last weekend that:

When gdal has a problem loading libproj.so it does not work correctly,
but Thuban does not act on this, but just displays bad data.
You can check if you move the libproj.so away and run the gdalwarp command
below to see that some part of gdal or proj notices the ERROR.
If you then try to display the iceland raster session you only will see green.
